At the age of 17, a dream began as an ambitious young man left his home in Jamaica for New York City. The next few years would see him graduate from New York University (NYU) with a degree in Hotel Management specializing in Culinary Arts and also advanced studies at the Culinary Institute of America, which is now considered the world’s premier culinary school. After the completion of his studies, he gathered years of experience within the city. After years of experience in New York, he decided it was time to return to his home in Jamaica.In the early part of his move back home, he was appointed the position of Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Manager at various establishments including:Trelawny Beach Hotel, Seawind Beach Resort and Sandals Montego Bay. With over 35+ years of culinary experience, Chef Robbie Joseph has envisioned the enhancement of the food industry in Jamaica and the Caribbean at large. Out of this desire to provide customers with an “experience” each and every time they visit one of his establishments or used his services, Jamaica Prime Foods (JPF) was formed. Jamaica Prime Foods serves as the parent company for Chef Joseph’s success stories: Robbie’s Joseph catering, The Seahorse Grill and Ol’ Joe Restaurant restaurant. The company is expected to grow to include other ventures but his passion and dedication towards hospitality will remain at the forefront. Being recognized as a company with a strong foundation and notable experiences in dining and hospitality, the potential for Jamaica Prime Food’s growth is evident. We continuously strive to maintain the highest standard for our customers.
